Friday Fictioneers

So, I’m all about new experiences.  Well, for the most part.

Through another blog (and Lord knows, I can’t figure out which one or I’d link it), I discovered Ms. Madison Woods. Ms. Woods is a writer and she challenges her readers, through a photo prompt to write a 100 word story/poem/whatever.

I decided to give it a try.

Here is the prompt for this week:

Here is what I came up with…100 words on the nose! :)

Burning bright like the sun

Yet bringing coolness instead of heat

Like a love that is tried and true

Caresses that know every nook and cranny

Caresses that revel in every wrinkle and sag

Caresses from a lover that accepts every inch of you

And loves all of them equally

Heat and brightness blind, hiding the truth

Blinding you to the road ahead

Coolness shines a true light on the path to be taken

Leads you with love and gentleness

Rather than flailing blindly

Heat and brightness burn leaving scars

Coolness changes you gently

Leaving only love in its wake

  1. Wonderful, in my eyes it takes great skill let alone courage to write in verse. I may give it a go one week. Really beautiful :)

  2. This is absolutely beautiful! I wish I could write poetry. I love how we all write in totally different styles. GREAT job. :)

    • Thank you! You’re welcome to come look anytime! And thank you for the kind words. I’m not a poetry kind of gal and this was actually the first piece of poetry I’ve ever written. Thanks for the feedback!

    • Thank you. I’m sorry it made you sad, but I totally understand where you are coming from. I loved yours! Very powerful words and such a wonderful impression with so few words!
